It's like Legend of Zelda...
The level maps should be compasses though. Reminds me of the Zelda games.
Also, my drops suck crap. My best drop thus far is a Purple dual winged axe. I could get that way back in Prophecies
GWEN is fun, but I wish I had better luck and actually got some equipment worth having now and then. If good drops going to other party members counted toward you're Unlucky track, I'd be maxed by now :\

At least they are taking from the best. If you're gonna do dungeon levels, I could think of a lot worse methods to follow.
As for drops...I've been getting Purple and Gold drops left and right. And don't forget the max Chuck Norris brass knucks.

Everyone else always seems to get nice stuff. I've gotten something like two purples and one gold as normal PvE drops, and the gold was a scythe from the end of Darkrime. Nice scythe though - lightning damage of defense. I'm gonna use it in PvP to spam blind from me D/E

Lol! Before that... we need z axis! Zelda is a great game, though, imo. I like the dungeon system its great. Also... I don't recommend using lockpicks... its like 90% gold for me and my friends. I stick with the end dungeon chest and the quest reward. Quest reward 2k gold ftw.

ATTENTION ARENANET!
We Zelda/Guild Wars fans DEMAND the use of an Ooccoo!!
http://www.zeldawiki.org/Ooccoo
You meet her around the first third of the dungeon, she allows you to warp out of the dungeon and come back at the time of your choosing (such as to sell), and nothing is cooler than an alien chicken lady with the head of a man!!

I was talking about this with my friends. All it needs is creepy dungeon music... and puzzles...and an annoying fairy with useless tips.

we need more human manned dungeons, i love delving into them with just a team of 2 (with heroes o/c" but we need more "Quick quick quick! go right!, ill take that one - you do that, ahh crap come back" moments ><

I think the rewards at the end of the dungeons need to be better. The first dunegon I did I got two diamonds.. i was satisfied with that but the next two i did i got one gold weapon each that wasn't even r9... so that would be my only suggestion as far the maps.. otherwise they are good. Adds a little more thinking involved the first time through.

Zelda...lord those were the days.....wonderful game. from beginning to end.
But back to topic...I agree with the similarity.
1 improvement that I am hoping will come friday is in field/dungeon merchants. I simply DO NOT have enough room in inventory without salvaging for all the drops. (yes, i know this doesnt belong here, but its where I am at the moment. sorry)

GW is FAR away from beign like Zelda.
When it goes to classic good dungeons, Zelda is the best godly game, with that u can compary anything.
But Zelda is an Action Adventure and no MMo, so u can't compare the feeling u have, when u make the dungeons in zelda and when u make them in GW.
On Zelda, U play ALONE, u make the dungeons the whole tiem alone and u kill the bosses alone, there the dungeons have "ROOMS" and are not simple only some little big cave like places.
GW has only begun now dungeons, but imo they are far away from the point to give us players awesome dungeons, where the player receives the same feeling as playing Zelda.
When i play Zelda, then u can expect in every single room to encounter very nifty riddles, what do we have in GW ?
There its only important to mass slaughter everything away that comes into the way of ur group, run for maps, which simple lie around in the ground.
In Zelda u have really to search for those damn maps and u can ONLY see something, where u are and where u can go, when u have the map !!!!
As long u dont have the map in zelda game,s ur nearly blind...
In GW, u dont need really the map, u can do al the shit in the dungeons without it, when u've enough time to kill simple everything until u find sooner or later everything by urself without map to the things that you need to reach the gate to the next stage.
In Zelda, u must do lost of things, that u can't do in GW: u must push around heavy blocks, u must jump, swim, dive, and so on ..
YOU CAN'T COMPARY GW WITH ZELDA, ZELDA IS GODLY, GW IS NOTHING COMPARED TO ZELDA.
But, hmm, i really hope, once GW2 comes out, that the dungeons until then in GW1 get improved naturally (come on 2 stage dungeons are a bad JOKE) highest number of stages is 5 and thats frostmaws place that we could made in SPE and this dungeon is childs play after stage 1, really nothing compared to ZELDA.
The dungeons are really only worth it, when u make them all alone by urself, and u play them really like zeldastyle, when this is possible in GW with any solo build, those places would be awesome. but i want see the player. that kills the bosses at the end alone ... all too strong, even with full party they can be dangerous.
however, dungeons system needs to be improved.
the game should have 2 different kinds of dungeons.
party dungeons and solo dungeons.
party dungeons are as the name says for parties only for up to 4/6/8 or more people. I want see with GW2 finally big parties, big parties of say like 25 people, with such parties u can make very nice brwls XD then its cool, when u fight like versus unendless groups of enemies or vers ver strong lesser big groups of big to huge monsters.
solo dungeons are in GW2 then very much like Zelda, due to the fact that we can then jump, swim, clamber and so on, we can do then the exact same things, Link can do.
Then dungeions maps need only to be placed somewhere really hidden into chests which are good protected are somewhere hidden through riddles.
give the dungeons then rooms too and make them nun just big chambers full of monsters, thatds boring.
ur compass shold be disabled, u see it only once u found one in the dungeon.
as said, ur "blind" as long u have no map, as long u have no, players will see on map only fog.
and once uve found map/compass of a dungeon, u keep them, they are not away when u leave the dungeon, same should be with party dungeon, but there the stuff is chara based.
and please very important, for future dungeons (or in hope the now existing ones will be improved)
raise the number of stages. as said, dungeosn with only 2 or 3 stages are a joke.
Dungeons minimum of stages should be 5, middle 10 and highest should be up to 15.
A dungeon wich reach stage of 15 can be naturally only 1 of 2 things.
1. a very very deep cave or
2. a very big tower.
something i really want to see in GW2, once the game becomes real 3D, i want ot sta on the top a a huge tower and then look down to the horizon of Tyria, to the clouds or into the sun, having a full 3D Circle camera with that i can zoom in and zoom out as far as i want (zoom out, naturally not so far out, that ur chara becomes as small as an ant XD)

Every time I get the level map, dungeon key, etc., I sing the Zelda "item acquired" chime from Windwaker to myself. It's too bad there isn't a spin-around-and-hold-item-up emote.

I can see how Zelda and GW may seem alike, but Zelda has puzzles, something that GW needs, but then again it's hard to imagine something "puzzling" in a multiplayer game when any one of them could just easily solve it.
